The Kegel, explained for men who were never shown one
Most men past 40 have heard the word and never done the exercise. It is a gentle squeeze and lift of the muscles you would use to stop the flow mid-stream, held for a few seconds, then let go completely, then repeated.
We start you lying on your back with knees bent, because in that position gravity is out of the way and the hips can relax. The piece explains why we give the release as much attention as the hold, why breathing out comes with the squeeze, and how the same hold moves to seated, standing, bridge and deep squat across the plan.
